Update

Updating Sampression Pro

Login to your Sampression.com account and download the latest version of Sampression Pro theme from Available Downloads section.

The following instructions assume that you have not made any changes in the theme file or you are using a child theme.

You can update the theme by doing one of the following:

Renaming:

  1. Unzip the new theme in a folder.
  2. Rename the Folder (e.g. sampression-pro-new).
  3. Compress the folder into a zip file.
  4. Upload the theme using the WordPress Dashboard.
  5. Activate new version of the theme.

Deleting:

  1. On your Dashboard, go to: Appearance > Themes and activate any other theme.
  2. Delete the old Sampression Pro theme.
  3. Upload the new theme using the WordPress Dashboard.
  4. Activate the new theme.

Installing a Sampression Theme

Uploading via the WordPress Dashboard

Use the WP Dashboard to install your theme:

1. Download your purchased Pro theme in your computer. It will be downloaded in the form of a compressed  zip file.

2. On your dashboard, go to: Appearance › Themes and click on Add New at the top of the screen

3. Click Upload Theme button to upload the .zip file.

4. Select your downloaded theme package (.zip file) and click on Install Now.

5. Go to: Appearance › Themes to Activate your theme

Uploading via FTP

You can upload the un-zipped file to the correct folder on your site if you have FTP log in details.

  1. Download your purchased Pro theme in your computer. It will be downloaded in the form of a compressed zip file.
  2. Extract the downloaded folder to your computer.
  3. Use FTP details to login to your site and upload the theme folder to the wp-content/themes/folder.
  4. Go to: Appearance › Themes to Activate the theme.

Header

Header text and text colour section
  1. Login to WordPress Admin.
  2. On your dashboard, go to: Appearance › Header and click on Site Title & Tagline.
  3. Go to Colors and click on Select Color and choose a color for the header text.
  4. Click on Save & Publish after you’re done.
Adding images in the Header
  1. Login to WordPress Admin.
  2. On your dashboard, go to: Appearance › Header and click on Header Image.
  3. Go to: Add new image and upload an image from your computer or select an image from the media library.
  4. Crop the image.  The cropped image (recommended size 960 x 152 pixels) will be displayed in the box. You can modify it but you might break the website layout.
  5. Click on the Save & Publish after you’re done.
Changing/Removing images in the Header
  1. Login to WordPress Admin.
  2. On your dashboard, go to: Appearance › Header and click on Header Image.
  3. Choose any of the previously uploaded header images. Click on the Randomize uploaded headers option if you want to display different images on different pages.
  4. Click on the Save & Publish after you’re done.
  5. Hover around the image and the X button will be displayed. Click on it to remove the header image. You will not be able to restore images after you’ve removed it.

Background

Adding images to the Background
  1. Login to WordPress Admin.
  2. On your dashboard, go to: Appearance › Background and select Background Image.
  3. Upload the image to be shown at your website’s background from your computer or choose from your media library. You will get a preview on top of the page.
  4. Select the Display Options as per your preference.
  5. Click on the Save & Publish after you’re done.
Removing images from the Background
  1. Login to WordPress Admin
  2. On your dashboard, go to: Appearance › Background and select Background Image.
  3. Click on Remove. You will not be able to revert this customization.
  4. Click on the Save & Publish after you’re done.

Menus

Creating a Menu

Sampression Pro supports only one menu that will appear on the top-right corner of the header.

  1. Login to WordPress Admin
  2. On your dashboard, go to: Appearance › Menus
  3. Go to:  Edit Menus and click on Create a new menu.
  4. Give an appropriate menu name and click on Create Menu.
  5. Tick the Top Menu check-box.
  6. Click on Save Menu after you’re done.

Widgets

Adding widgets

Sampression Pro has two Widget Areas, one on the Inner Sidebar for the inner pages and one on the Home Page.

  1. Login to WordPress Admin.
  2. On your dashboard, go to: Appearance › Widgets.
  3. Click on any available widget and select Primary Sidebar or Footer Sidebar according to your preference and click on Add Widget.
  4. Drag and drop the available widgets to the Primary Sidebar widget area or the Footer Sidebar widget area.
Removing widgets
  1. Login to WordPress Admin
  2. On your dashboard, go to: Appearance › Widgets
  3. Click on any widget on the Primary Sidebar widget area or the Footer Sidebar widget area and click on delete.
  4. Drag and remove the widgets from the Primary Sidebar widget area or the Footer Sidebar widget area.

Logos & Icons

Adding Logo to Website
  1. Login to WordPress Admin
  2. On your dashboard, go to: Appearance › Theme Options and click on LOGOS & ICONS.
  3. Select Website Logo radio button  and click on Change.
  4. Upload an image from your computer or select an image from the media library and click on Choose Image.
  5. Click on Save button after you’re done.
Adding Favicon and Apple Touch Icons
  1. Login to WordPress Admin
  2. On your dashboard, go to: Appearance › Theme Options and click on LOGOS & ICONS.
  3. Go to the Favicon or Apple Touch Icons section and click on Change.
  4. Upload an image from your computer or select an image from the media library and click on Choose Image.
  5. Click on Save button after you’re done.

Styling

Removing default background of home page
  1. Login to WordPress Admin
  2. On your dashboard, go to: Appearance › Theme Options  and click on STYLING.
  3. Uncheck the Show Background check-box. This will make your selected background image as your homepage background.
  4. Click on Save button after you’re done.

Setting sidebar layout
  1. Login to WordPress Admin
  2. On your dashboard, go to: Appearance › Theme Options  and click on STYLING.
  3. Select an appropriate layout on the Sidebar section.
  4. Click on Save button after you’re done.
Changing home page layout
  1. Login to WordPress Admin
  2. On your dashboard, go to: Appearance › Theme Options and click on STYLING.
  3. Select appropriate number of Columns to be displayed on home page.
  4. Click on Save button after you’re done.

Typography

Typography (General)

Typography(General) options control the basic typography of your overall webpages.

  1. Login to WordPress Admin
  2. On your dashboard, go to: Appearance › Theme Options and click on TYPOGRAPHY.
  3. Select the General option from the drop-down list in the Typography section.
  4. Make the following customizations:
    • Set the font size
    • Select the font from web-safe fonts and Google Fonts
    • Select the font style
    • Select the font color
  5. Preview the current font selection
  6. Click on Save button after you’re done.

Typography (Post/Pages)

Typography(Post/Page) options control the basic typography of single page/post.

  1. Login to WordPress Admin
  2. On your dashboard, go to: Appearance › Theme Options and click on TYPOGRAPHY.
  3. Select the Post/Pages (Single) option from the drop-down list in the Typography section.
  4. Make the following customizations:
    • Set the font size
    • Select the font from web-safe fonts and Google Fonts
    • Select the font style
    • Select the font color
  5. Preview the current font selection
  6. Click on Save button after you’re done.

Typography(Index/Blog) options control the basic typography of your home page.

Adding social media link
  1. Login to WordPress Admin.
  2. On your dashboard, go to: Appearance › Theme Options and click on SOCIAL MEDIA.
  3. Fill out the social media URLs accordingly.
  4. Click on Save button after you’re done.

Custom CSS

Adding your custom css
  1. Login to WordPress Admin
  2. On your dashboard, go to: Appearance › Theme Options and click on CUSTOM CSS.
  3. Insert appropriate CSS codes in the text field. The Custom CSS will be applied to every web pages.
  4. Click on Save button after you’re done.

Blog

Meta & Post display settings
  1. Login to WordPress Admin
  2. On your dashboard, go to: Appearance › Theme Options and click on BLOG.
  3. Tick the options that you want to display in your Blog page.
  4. Click on Save after you’re done.

Advanced

Adding Custom css/js in Header and tracking code in Footer
  1. Login to WordPress Admin
  2. On your dashboard, go to: Appearance › Theme Option and click on ADVANCED.
  3. Add appropriate CSS or JS codes in the Header Code section or tracking code in the Footer Code section.
  4. Click on Save after you’re done.

Import Export

Export or Import theme settings
  1. Login to WordPress Admin.
  2. On your dashboard, go to: Appearance › Theme Options click on IMPORT EXPORT.
  3. Click on Export button to export the current theme settings into a JSON file.
  4. Click on Import JSON File button to import theme settings from an external JSON file. Click on Execute button to apply the imported theme settings.
